Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Somsavat Lengsavat affirmed that sports delegations, fans and international guests at the 25th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 25) in Laos will be well-served and come away with lasting, positive impressions of Laos.

Talking to a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Vientiane on November 18, Deputy PM Lengsavat, who is also Chairman of the SEA Games 25 Organising Committee, said that this is the first time Laos has hosted a large regional sports event, so the country has made an all-out effort to prepare for the games.

Already, all preparations for SEA Games 25, including the construction of the National Sports Complex and the SEA Games Village, where athletes will live in during the games, have been completed, he said.

Security work and traffic arrangements in the capital city of Vientiane have been strengthened to ensure the best conditions for the region’s largest sports event.

Laos also set up a health committee which has coordinated with relevant agencies to take measures against the A/H1N1 flu, he added./.
