National Assembly deputies vote on the appointment of new Minister of Transport and Government Inspector General (Source: VNA)
Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly (NA) voted on the appointment of new Minister of Transport and Government Inspector General via secret ballot at its ongoing fourth session on the morning of October 26.
Nguyen Van The, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Secretary of the Soc Trang provincial Party Committee was nominated for Minister of Transport, while Le Minh Khai, member of the CPV Central Committee and Secretary of the Bac Lieu provincial Party Committee, was introduced to the post of Government Inspector General.
The results of the vote will be announced on the afternoon of October 26.
A day earlier, the legislature relieved Truong Quang Nghia of the post of Transport Minister and Phan Van Sau of the post of Government Inspector General, also using secret ballot, in moves to reshuffle Government personel.
Nghia is now Secretary of the Da Nang municipal Party Committee, while Sau will perform The’s former role as Secretary of the Soc Trang provincial Party Committee.
NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressed her hope that in their new positions, Nghia and Sau will continue to join local authorities and people in successfully performing their duties.
Also on the morning of October 26, lawmakers discussed a bill on amendments and supplements to the Law on Credit Institutions. - VNA
