Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly (NA) relieved Truong Quang Nghia of the post of Minister of Transport and Phan Van Sau of the post of Government Inspector General on October 25.
The dismissal, part of the NA’s ongoing fourth session, was approved by secret ballot.
Up to 94.7 percent or 465 of the NA deputies voted for the relief of Truong Quang Nghia while 94.3 percent or 463 of the lawmakers supported the relief of Phan Van Sau.
NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the two officials made efforts to fulfil their assigned tasks in the posts they served. She expressed her hope that in their new positions, Truong Quang Nghia, now Secretary of the Da Nang municipal Party Committee, and Phan Van Sau, now Secretary of the Soc Trang provincial Party Committee, will continue to join local authorities and people to successfully perform their duties.

After that, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc proposed the NA choose Secretary of the Soc Trang Party Committee Nguyen Van The as Minister of Transport, and Secretary of the Bac Lieu provincial Party Committee Le Minh Khai as Government Inspector General.
The National Assembly is scheduled to vote on the proposed appointments in the morning of October 26.-VNA
