The Prime Minister has approved a project to improve surgical capacity to manage tuberculosis-related and other pulmonary diseases in Vietnam funded by Luxembourg’s Official Development Assistance (ODA).

The project aims to advance the country’s surgical system capacity in a bid to meet increasing demand for lung cancer treatment and to support the national tuberculosis and pulmonary prevention and treatment programme through 2020.

The initiative is scheduled to be implemented from 2015 to 2018 and supervised by the Ministry of Health (MOH)

The project has total investment of over 2.3 million EUR with 2 million EUR in non-refundable aid from the government of Luxembourg.

The Prime Minister has requested the MOH to coordinate with relevant authorised bodies to carry out the project in accordance with regulations on managing and using ODA and other concessionary sponsorship funds.-VNA
