Hanoi (VNA) – The Malaysiangovernment has set up the Economic Action Council led by Prime MinisterMahathir Mohamad to address economic matters as well as the welfare of thepeople.
In an announcement issued on February 11, thePrime Minister’s Office said the main target of the council establishment is topromote economic growth and equitable distribution of wealth.
It will also look into issues related to thecost of living, employment, poverty and home ownership.
The council was formed to respond and act uponthe people’s feedback about the problems they face, particularly in theeconomic field.
It consists of ministers of economy, finance,international trade and industry as well as economists and leaders of major Malaysianbusinesses.-VNA
