Malaysia unveils group travel pass to boost public transport use

Malaysia has launched a group travel pass to encourage more people to use the public transportation system across the Klang Valley, which includes Selangor, Putrajaya, and Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) –Malaysia has launched a group travel passto encourage more people to use the public transportation system across theKlang Valley, which includes Selangor, Putrajaya, and Kuala Lumpur.

Addressing thelaunch on November 22, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Keluarga Malaysia (MalaysianFamily) Travel Pass, costing 15 MYR (3.75 USD), will give a group of fourpersons unlimited one-day access to the light rail transit, mass rapidtransport, monorail, as well as the bus rapid transit systems on weekends andpublic holidays.

He noted thisinitiative is aimed at encouraging Malaysian families to go out and spendquality time with their loved ones at the malls or many tourist attractionsalong the network in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

Convenient, efficient, and interconnected public transport is vital for people’s mobility and alsospurs economic growth, the Malaysian PM added./.
