Man causing blast at Binh Duong taxation department gets 11-year jail term

The People’s Court of southern Binh Duong province on April 21 sentenced a man who caused a blast last year at the headquarters of the provincial Department of Taxation to 11 years behind bars.

BinhDuong (VNA) - The People’s Court of southern Binh Duong province onApril 21 sentenced a man who caused a blast last year at the headquarters ofthe provincial Department of Taxation to 11 years behind bars.

Truong Duong was charged with “conducting terrorism acts against the people’s administration” underArticle 113 of the 2015 Criminal Code, the first instance trial heard.

He receivedguidance from Lisa Pham, a member of a terroristorganisation called the “Provisional National Government of Vietnam”.

Duong must also paycompensation of over 800 million VND (34,000 USD) to the taxation department./.
