Media a bridge for stronger Vietnam-Indonesia relations: ambassador

Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong noted that media plays a pivotal role in deepening Vietnam-Indonesia ties, while addressing a press gathering on February 12.

Jakarta (VNA) – The media plays a pivotal role in deepening Vietnam-Indonesia ties, fostering cooperation, and driving mutual growth, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong remarked at the 2025 press gathering attended by over 20 leading Indonesian media outlets.

Ambassador Thong expressed gratitude for the Indonesian press cirlce’s contributions to strengthening bilateral relations and shaping a dynamic partnership between the two nations. He underscored Vietnam’s commitment to promoting investment in key emerging sectors, including the Halal industry, digital economy, green transition, and the electric vehicle ecosystem.

During the February 12 event, the ambassador engaged with journalists on a range of topics, from Vietnam’s strategic priorities in bilateral cooperation to boosting tourism, cultural exchanges, and rice trade, along with collaboration within ASEAN.

Highlighting Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements in 2024, Thong reaffirmed its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralisation of international relations, and being a friend, a reliable partner, and an active and responsible member of the international community, for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development in the region and the world at large.

Additionally, the diplomat touched upon major multilateral events Vietnam will host in 2025 and stressed the country’s active participation in international organisations and forums, further solidifying its position on the global stage./.
