Kien Giang has two traffic infrastructurepackages, according to Nguyen Van Tu, Director of the provincial Department ofTransport’s investment and construction projects management board.
One, worth 200 billion VND (8.7 million USD), isfor the construction of a section of road ĐT971 from National highway No 80 tothe Hon Trem crossroads and two bridges.
The bidding is open to all contractors who haveexperience in construction and management of infrastructure projects,implemented a similar package with a value of at least 124 billion VND (5.4million USD) and earned an annual income of 163 billion VND (7.1 million USD)or more in the last three years from construction.
The second package is for building a road alongthe Chung Bau Canal in Tan Hiep district and is worth more than 51 billion VND(2.2 million USD).
Tu said the bidding for the two packages is verycompetitive and his agency has designed a very clear set of criteria to ensurefair competition and transparency.
Other provinces in the delta are also lookingfor contractors for many irrigation projects.
Ha Duc Hanh, Deputy Director of the Ministry ofAgriculture and Rural Development’s Irrigation Work Investment and ConstructionManagement Board No 10, said bids are being invited for five irrigationpackages in Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Bac Lieu, and Tien Giang provinces totally worth2.8 trillion VND (122 million USD).
The agency would ensure fair assessment andaward of bids, he promised.
