Mid-autumn atmosphere overwhelms nation

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc on September 18 presented gifts to outstanding students in An Binhcommune in Bac Ninh province’s Thuan Thanh district on this occasion.

Talking with local students and authorities, DeputyPM Phuc affirmed that the Party and State always pay attention to childcare and protection, and ensuring a healthy playground for them.

He also asked the local authorities to continue giving care tochildren and families of those who rendered service during the war.

The same day, the Vietnam News Agency’s Representative Office in theCentral Highlands province of Lam Dong in coordination with theBibica Corporation and the Dong Tam Nutrition Food Joint StockCompany ( Nutifood) presented gifts to 420 local ethnic minoritychildren.

The office also collaborated with otherpress agencies in Da Lat city to hold full-moon festivities forunderprivileged children.

In the capital city ofHanoi , more than 600 children joined residents in the Old Quarter in amid-autumn festival held at Dong Xuan Market in the night of September18, during which they had a chance to enjoy folk performances and games,and lion dances.

Meanwhile, the northernmountainous province of Tuyen Quang organised a festival to displayVietnam’s largest mid-autumn feast recognised by the VietnamGuinness Book of Records (Vietbooks).

Thenight festival was also honoured with the most unique and biggestlanterns in the country by the Vietnam Guinness Record Council.

Many other localities nationwide, including Dien Bien, Lai Chau, ThaiNguyen, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen, Kon Tum and Da Nang have hosted an arrayof practical activities to help outstanding students and those of poorfamilies have a happy mid-autumn festival.-VNA
