- State President Vo Van Thuong will pay an official visit toLaos from April 10-11 at the invitation of General Secretary of the LaoPeople's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.

This marks the President’s first overseas trip, and Laos is thefirst country he will visit in his new position. The visit takes place in thecontext of the continued development of the great friendship, specialsolidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. Read full story

- Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien andMinister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi of theUnited Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed a Ministerial Declaration onstarting negotiations on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement(CEPA) between the two nations right after Vietnam completed its procedures.

The signing took place after a meeting between Dien and AlZeyoudi during the Vietnamese minister's working visit to the UAE from April5-6. Read full story

- Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’sCommittee Phan Van Mai paid a courtesy visit to Lao Prime Minister SonexaySiphandone, and had talks with Mayor of Vientiane Atsaphangthong Siphandone onApril 8 as part of his ongoing working visit to Laos.

The Lao PM highlighted the significance of the HCMCity delegation’s visit, and thanked the Vietnamese locality for workingclosely with many localities of Laos, affirming that the cooperation hascontributed to deepening the special solidarity relationship between Vietnamand Laos. Read full story

Hanoi's National Assembly deputies urged to fulfill commitments to voters

In the third quarter of 2026, Hanoi recorded a strong breakthrough, with growth of 10.02%, exceeding the national rate of 9.95%. This marked the first time the city had achieved double-digit growth this year and its highest quarterly growth rate. Its GRDP growth in the first nine months was estimated at 8.85%, up from 7.92% in the same period of 2025.

Swiss President Guy Parmelin’s Vietnam visit to advance bilateral ties

Vietnam elevates ties with Denmark, EU and Belgium: Spokeswoman

Vietnam and the EU officially upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during President of the European Council António Costa’s visit to Vietnam in January 2026. Vietnam is the EU’s first comprehensive strategic partner in Southeast Asia and the only ASEAN member with all cooperation pillars in place with the bloc.
