-Party General Secretary and President To Lam on August 15 met with former guards and medical workers who served President Ho Chi Minh during the time he lived and worked at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi from 1954-1969.

- National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that Vietnam always regards the US as a partner of strategic importance at his reception for US Ambassador Marc Evans Knapper in Hanoi on August 15.
The chief legislator used this occasion to thank the US for sending condolences to the Vietnamese Party, State and people over the passing of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. -The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the administration of the southernmost province of Ca Mau, handed over 59 safe houses to residents of Khanh Lam commune in U Minh district on August 15.
This is part of component 1 of the project "Enhancing resilience to climate change impacts for vulnerable coastal communities in Vietnam" (known as GCF project).
