-Party General Secretary and President To Lam on August 15 met with former guards and medical workers who served President Ho Chi Minh during the time he lived and worked at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi from 1954-1969.

The meeting was held on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, and the 55th commemoration of the late President's death (1969-2024).Read full story

- National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that Vietnam always regards the US as a partner of strategic importance at his reception for US Ambassador Marc Evans Knapper in Hanoi on August 15.

-The upcoming state visit to China by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam and his spouse demonstrates the importance and top priority that Vietnam gives to its relations with the neighbouring country, said a senior Vietnamese Party official.

-Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and her entourage visited the central province of Quang Tri on August 15 to examine a project she is funding to enhance the life quality of children and adolescents in Asia-Pacific underway at Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary school in Dong Ha city.

This is part of component 1 of the project "Enhancing resilience to climate change impacts for vulnerable coastal communities in Vietnam" (known as GCF project). Ca Mau province joined the project later than others (January 2024), however, with the efforts of the project management board, local administration, and beneficiary families, the project has successfully achieved its goal of building 425 safe houses.Read full story/.
