- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son received Special Envoy of the President and Advisor for International Affairs of Palestine Riad Malki in Hanoi on December 25.
Son highlighted the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Palestine, which began in 1968, even before the establishment of official bilateral diplomatic ties. - The US-based financial, economic, and stock market news site investing.com said Vietnam's economy demonstrated continued resilience in November, with a substantial trade surplus and growth in exports and imports.
It cited a report by Dynam Capital Limited as saying Vietnam’s exports, particularly in computers, electronics, phones, machinery, and textiles, have seen significant growth, bolstered by strong performances across major markets such as China, the US, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and the EU. - Thailand’s fintech giant SCB X has announced a plan to complete its acquisition of Home Credit Vietnam Finance Co, the consumer finance arm of Home Credit NV (Home Credit Group), in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approval.
On February 28, 2023 SCB X announced that it entered into a sales and purchase agreement via Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) to acquire the entire charter capital of Home Credit Vietnam Finance Co for around 31 billion THB (907.49 million USD). Read full story
- The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has decided to review new exporters involved in the application of measures against trade remedy circumvention for certain sugar products, its Trade Remedies Authority (Trav) said.
On August 1, 2022, the ministry issued a decision on the application of such measures on some cane sugar products. On November 25, 2024, the authority received a complete and valid dossier from Delicious Food Co. Ltd., requesting a review of new exporters in the case. Read full story
- The Railway Transport Joint Stock Company on December 25 officially inaugurated a project to upgrade and renovate 11 high-quality passenger carriages (AnL28).

- The Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRCS)’s miles-for-charity campaign has raised over 1.2 billion VND (47,188 USD), converted from the total kilometers run by more than 137,000 participants on the online sports platform vRace, since it was launched on November 23.
