Hanoi, (VNA) - The following is a list of selected news summaries reported last night by the Vietnam News Agency.

– President Vo Van Thuong visited the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) in Hanoi on February 1, asking it to sustain its role as leading enterprise of the country and a State-owned business model.

Reporting on the group’s performance, Viettel Chairman and General Director Maj. Gen. Tao Duc Thang said that in 2023, Viettel earned more than 172 trillion VND (7 billion USD) in revenue, up 5.4%, and contributed nearly 39 trillion VND to the state budget. The ratio of pre-tax profit to revenue topped 25% over the last three years. The firm has also invested in 10 foreign markets on three continents and now ranks first in terms of the telecoms market share in seven markets.Read full text

- National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue extended Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings to officers and soldiers of the border guard force nationwide at a programme held at the Border Guard High Command in Hanoi on February 1.

– More than 662.59 trillion VND (27.14 billion USD) of public capital allocated for 2023 was disbursed as of January 31, fulfilling 93.12% of the Prime Minister’s assigned plan, according to the Ministry of Finance.
