Hanoi (VNA) – The following is a list of selected news summaries reported last night by the Vietnam News Agency.

– The Central Public Security Party Committee convened a conference in Hanoi on December 4, with Party General Secretary To Lam, who is a member of the committee's standing board, attending and delivering a guidance speech.

State President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, both members of the committee's standing board, also attended and addressed the meeting. Read full story

– Vietnam and Japan held their first Foreign and Defence Vice-Ministerial Consultation in Tokyo on December 4, engaging in frank and open discussions on diplomatic and security ties as well as broader global and regional developments.

– Vietnam consistently supports and creates favourable conditions for the operations of foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs), helping to foster friendship and cooperation between Vietnamese people and the international community while mobilising resources for national poverty reduction and sustainable development, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son has said.

He made the remarks at the 5th International Conference on Vietnam–Foreign NGO and Partner Cooperation for Prosperity and Sustainable Development, held in Hanoi on December 4, which brought together more than 500 delegates representing ministries, agencies, localities, diplomatic missions, international organisations, foreign NGOs and the business sector. – A delegation from the Vietnam Ministry of National Defence, led by Deputy Chief of the General Department of Defence Industry Maj. Gen Phan Thi Hoai Van recently paid a courtesy call to Egyptian Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa in Cairo.

The meeting was part of the delegation's working trip to Egypt to attend the 4th Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX) held from December 1-4, months after the two nations elevated relations to a Comprehensive Partnership during State President Luong Cuong’s State visit to Cairo in August. Read full story

– Bui Thi Minh Hoai, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, on December 4 received 500,000 USD in relief aid from the Chinese Government, delivered through the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, to support flood-hit communities.

At the meeting with the VFF leader on the day, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei said the amount, though modest, reflects the Chinese people’s sentiments toward the Vietnamese people, helping them recover from the recent storms and floods. Read full story

– The 23rd Vietnam International Trade Fair in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam Expo HCMC 2025) is being held from December 4-6, hosting over 1,000 booths from 800 enterprises and trade promotion organisations across over 20 countries and territories.
