- Vietnam attaches great importance to its traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Belarus and wishes to further advance bilateal ties, Party General Secretary To Lam told visiting State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Grigorievich Volfovich on December 3.

- Vietnam must shift from a medical and welfare-based approach to a fully inclusive social model when crafting policies for those with disabilities, Party General Secretary To Lam said on December 3, urging laws to treat the disabled as active contributors rather than care recipients.
Chairing a working session on the enforcement of Party and State’s policies and guidelines for persons with disabilities in Hanoi on December 3, General Secretary Lam praised existing support policies, guidelines, and models in rehabilitation, inclusive education and employment. Read full story
- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Lao counterpart Sonexay Siphandone co-chaired the Vietnam - Laos investment promotion conference in Vientiane on December 1, mapping out ways to realise major economic, investment, and trade goals agreed for 2026 and the 2026-2030 period.
The event reviewed bilateral economic and investment ties, showcased each country’s business climate and priority sectors for investment attraction, and spotlighted opportunities in power generation, rubber, agro-processing, chemicals and mining. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh returned to Hanoi on the evening of December 3, concluding a two-day trip to Laos at the invitation of his Lao counterpart Sonexay Siphandone.
During the visit, the PM attended a high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party; co-chaired the 48th session of the Vietnam–Laos Intergovernmental Committee on Bilateral Cooperation with PM Sonexay Siphandone; joined celebrations marking the 50th National Day of Laos and the 105th birthday of President Kaysone Phomvihane; met with Lao Party General Secretary and President Thonglun Sisoulith; and participated in the Vietnam–Lao investment promotion conference. - The 15th National Assembly examined a Government proposal to merge three target programmes into a single National Target Programme on new-style rural development, sustainable poverty reduction, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2026-2035 period, during its ongoing 10th session in Hanoi on December 3.
