– Party General Secretary To Lam underlined the need to give priority and encouragement to the advancement of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, noting that related issues raised by legislators should be further studied and incorporated to promptly bring the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57 into practice.
Speaking in a group debate within the National Assembly’s 9th extraordinary session on February 15 morning, the Party chief requested the prompt implementation of the NA’s resolution on piloting certain policies to resolve obstacles in scientific and technological development, and innovation activities, stating that it is necessary to address institutional bottlenecks as soon as possible. – The traditional cultures of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups are an invaluable asset and a precious resource for the building of a strong and prosperous Vietnam, State President Luong Cuong has said.

The leader made his remarks at an annual festival honouring the traditional cultural values of the 54 ethnic groups, held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Dong Mo, Hanoi’s outlying Son Tay township, on February 15. Read full story
– The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) held a conference in Hanoi on February 16 to honour 95 outstanding workers who are also Party members.

– Ship 09 of the Naval Region 2’s Brigade 171 participated in the parade within the framework of the Komodo 2025 Multilateral Naval Exercise (MNEK 2025) that kicked off at Benoa Port, Indonesia, on February 16.
The 5th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) drew the participation of approximately 3,000 naval personnel from 37 countries and 40 warships, including 17 from Indonesia. Read full story
– Authorities of the southern industrial hub of Binh Duong held a meeting with two major foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises – Polytex Far Eastern Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Kumho Tire Vietnam Co., Ltd. – to address challenges facing the firms in production and business operations while encouraging their further expansion.

– Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone on February 14 held a meeting with a delegation of Vietnamese businesses and international enterprises from various countries, led by Nguyen Hong Hue, Chairman of the Business Association of Overseas Vietnamese.
At the meeting, Hue provided an insight into the activities of the association and the enterprises participating in the Investment Promotion Forum with the association in Laos. He described the forum as a valuable opportunity for businesses to showcase their strengths and expressed hopes that the Lao Government will facilitate investments in various sectors, including energy, mining, education, healthcare, high-tech agriculture, and the cultivation of raw materials for wood pellet exports. Other proposed areas of investment included trade, e-government, and the construction of an oil pipeline from the central Vietnamese province of Ha Tinh to the Lao capital of Vientiane. – The Ministry of Public Security has labelled “Boat People SOS” (BPSOS) based in the US as a terrorism-linked organisation.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, BPSOS operates under the guise of refugee relief but in fact exploits this activity to connect and assist organisations and individuals in carrying out activities to undermine Vietnam, including participants in the group “Montagnard Stand for Justice” (MSFJ), which conducted terrorist attacks on the administrations’ headquarters and civilians in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on June 11, 2023, killing nine officials and people. – Provinces and cities across the country have supported the replacement of 106,189 temporary and dilapidated houses, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs has informed.
Of the total, 61,557 houses have been inaugurated, while construction of 44,632 new homes have commenced. Notably, 8,560 houses have been built or repaired for families with revolutionary contributions, of which 3,754 were completed and 4,806 others under construction. Read full story
