- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has praised the National Assembly (NA)’s Party Committee for its proactive, dynamic, flexible and creative approach to following the Party’s resolutions, conclusions and directives, with high productivity and consensus.

- Minister of Public Security Gen. Luong Tam Quang has expressed his hope that US logistics giant FedEx will continue its active contribution to two-way trade and aviation security cooperation, making Vietnam a key logistics hub in ASEAN and across Asia.

- The Hanoi People's Court on March 17 commenced the first-instance trial of 13 defendants for their involvement in the case of violating bidding regulations that led to serious consequences at the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT), the Advanced International Joint Stock Company (AIC) and relevant units.

The fugitive defendant, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan (born 1969), chairwoman and general director of AIC, who is wanted by authorities, is being tried in absentia as per the court's decision. This is the eighth time Nhan has been tried in absentia. The defendant has been sentenced to a total of 30 years in prison from previous verdicts for "giving bribes and violating bidding regulations that led to serious consequences" as specified in Clause 3, Article 222 of the Penal Code. - An exhibition spotlighting Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos, alongside the 70-year legacy of the Vietnam People’s Navy in safeguarding the nation’s seas, opened in Cam Ranh city, the south central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on March 17.

The two-day event, co-hosted by the Naval Region 4 Command, the Navy Museum, National Archives Centre No.4 and the Hanoi Photography Club, is meant to mark the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Truong Sa (April 29), the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30), and the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Navy (May 7)./. Conference reviews inspection over Central Military Commission

Can Tho seeks Indian investment in technology, agriculture, industry

In 2023, the city signed a cooperation agreement with the consulate general aimed at strengthening collaboration in various fields, particularly education, culture, arts, IT, tourism, trade, and investment promotion. Vinh Phuc urged to take more drastic actions for stronger growth

Vinh Phuc's GRDP growth for 2021–2025 is projected at 7.4%, with total economic output expected to reach 190 trillion VND (7.45 billion USD) by 2025, 1.53 times higher than in 2020. Annual per capita GDP is forecast to rise to 148 million VND, while labour productivity is improving at an average of 11% per year.

National conference on provincial mergers scheduled

Currently, Vietnam has 10,035 commune-level administrative units, which will be consolidated into approximately 2,000 larger communes, each operating similarly to a small district. This restructuring is expected to begin immediately after the Party Central Committee's April meeting.
