– The completion of land border demarcation and markerplanting between Vietnam and Cambodia to build a common borderline of peace,friendship and sustainable development has long been the legitimate aspirationsof the two countries' people, Spokeswoman of the Vietnamese Ministry of ForeignAffairs Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed on May 26.

In that spirit, over thepast years, Vietnam and Cambodia have closely cooperated with each other andcompleted the demarcation and marker planting on 1,045km of their borderline,equivalent to around 84 percent of the total length, the spokeswoman said at aregular press conference held by the ministry. Read full story

- Up to 21 percent of Indian firms operating or intending tooperate in Southeast Asia plan to expand their business in Vietnam in the nexttwo years, and the ratio is 26 percent among Chinese enterprises, according toa HSBC survey covering more than 1,500 companies from six of the world’slargest economies – all of which have operations in Southeast Asia.

Vietnamese, Chinese Party communication bodies to maintain regular cooperation

57 Vietnamese citizens repatriated from Cambodia

Preliminary investigation showed that most of the returnees had either illegally exited Vietnam or worked without proper permits in Cambodia before being detained and handed back by Cambodian authorities.

Vietnam, Cambodia vow to strengthen defence cooperation

Vietnam and Cambodia vowed to continue their close coordination in border management and protection on land and at sea, intensifying information exchange, conducting joint patrols, safeguarding border markers, and combating transnational crimes. They agreed to contribute to land demarcation and marker planting work.
