Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam will work closely with the Czech Republic to further boost economic and trade ties, especially in fields of Vietnam’s demand and the Czech Republic’s strengths, said National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
During a reception in Hanoi on June 5 for Vojtech Filip, Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Czech Republic and Chairman of the Communist Party of the Czech Republic-Moravia, the NA Chairwoman affirmed that Vietnam always appreciates developing ties with traditional friends in Central and Eastern Europe, with the Czech Republic as one of priority partners.
She suggested enhancing collaboration via the Party, State and people-to-people exchange channels.
Filip informed the host that he met Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to discuss the fields of cooperation as agreed by the two countries’ leaders during Vietnam visit by the President of the Czech Republic last year.
He said the Czech Republic supports Vietnam’s run for a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure and the early signing of the European Union – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
Czech lawmakers will oversee government-level agreements and back cooperation projects in automobile manufacturing, he said.
The guest said the delegation of the Chamber of Deputies’ Committee of Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sports want to boost vocational training cooperation in fields of the Czech Republic’s strengths during the visit.
He added that the European country will facilitate visa issuance to Vietnamese students and wants the Vietnamese government to consider issuing short-term visas to Czech citizens.
The Czech Republic is ready to coordinate with Vietnam in health care, he affirmed.-VNA
