National Assembly to discuss Law on Citizen Identification

The Law on Citizen Identification will be the centre of discussion during the 21st working day of the fifth session of the 15th National Assembly on June 22.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Law on Citizen Identification will be the centre ofdiscussion during the 21st working day of the fifth session of the 15th National Assembly on June 22.

NAdeputies will also debate the draft Law onTelecommunications (amended).

Theywill adopt the Lawon Electronic Transactions (revised) and the Law amending and supplementing a number ofarticles of the Law on People's Public Security the same day.

Lawmakerswill also pass a resolution on the list andamounts of capital for tasks and projects under the socio-economic recovery anddevelopment programme; the allocation, adjustment, and supplement of the mid-term public investment plan from the centralbudget in the 2021-2025 period; and the allocation of the central budgetfor the national target programme. Besides, they will consider and pass another resolution related to the establishment of the NA's thematic supervisiondelegation in 2024./.

NA Standing Committee's key work agenda for 2026 approved

A major focus will be preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th NA and to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. The NASC will coordinate with the National Election Council, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and relevant agencies and organisations to continue implementing the election plan, organise oversight of the electoral process, and carry out its duties and powers as prescribed.
