The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) has organised delegations to visit and present gifts to Agent Orange (AO) victims throughout the country to partly relieve their pain caused by the spraying of the toxic chemical by the US Army.

On August 13, the agency’s representative office in the northern province of Ha Giang, in association with the provincial chapter of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange /dioxin, handed over 10 cash gifts sourced from the VNA fund for victims who are suffering from AO pain.

Though only a modest sum of 500,000 dong each, the gifts show the deep care and steps the agency has taken for AO victims across the country over the last seven years, in an effort to join hands with the whole of society in easing the pain from AO.

During a separate visit on August 12, the agency’s bureau in the central province of Ninh Thuan presented gifts to 10 child victims who were exposed to the toxic chemical in the locality.

It is hoped that with the spiritual incentive the agency has given, families of AO victims will have the will to create a better life for their children.-VNA
