Nearly 350 citizens brought home from Houston

The General Consulate of Vietnam in Houston, representative agencies in the US, Vietnamese authorities and national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines have worked together with US agencies to bring nearly 350 Vietnamese citizens home on August 5-6.

Hanoi (VNA) – The GeneralConsulate of Vietnam in Houston, representative agencies in the US, Vietnamese authoritiesand national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines have worked together with US agenciesto bring nearly 350 Vietnamese citizens home on August 5-6.

The passengers included children under 18,the elderly, the ill, stranded tourists, students who finished their studieswithout accommodations, and those in extremely disadvantaged circumstances.

The Vietnamese representative agencies inthe US had helped numerous citizens travel to the airport while the GeneralConsulate also sent staff to the airport to assist them with boardingprocedures.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, diseaseprevention measures were carried out during the flight. Upon landing at Noi BaiInternational Airport in Hanoi, the flight crew and all passengers were givenheath examinations and quarantined in line with regulations.

Vietnamese authorities and overseas missionsplan to arrange more flights to bring more Vietnamese citizens home, dependingon their need and quarantine capacity at home./.

Hanoi steps up crackdown on counterfeit goods, IP infringements
