Newly-established enterprises at record high in 2023
Business registrations continued to be a bright spot within the overall landscape of Vietnam’s economy in 2023, with nearly 160,000 new enterprises being established, an increase of 7.2% compared to 2022.
Total foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam, including new and additional investment and contributions for share purchases by foreign investors, reached nearly 10.86 billion USD from January to May 20, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
Some 15.3 billion USD was channeled into 2,608 new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects as of October 20, respectively up 54% and 66% year on year, statistics showed.
Total newly-registered investment capital, additional capital, contributed capital for share purchases, and contributed capital from foreign investors totalled 25.762 billion USD in the first 10 months of 2023, an increase of 14.7% over the same period of 2022 and the highest increase since the beginning of this year.
