The arrestee was Lo Van Duc, who resides in My Ly commune, Ky Son district,Nghe An province.
The 29-year-old man was seized in Kim Son town, Que Phong district whichborders Laos, smuggling the meth pills.
The case is under further investigation.
Last December, local border guards also arrested a Lao citizen named Tho No Bi smuggling 50,000 meth pills and 6kgof crystal meth into Vietnam.
Vietnam and Laos share a border of nearly 2,340 km that runs across through NgheAn and nine other Vietnamese provinces, namely Dien Bien, Son La, Thanh Hoa, HaTinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam and Kon Tum.
The border traverses 10 Lao provinces -Phongsaly, Luang Prabang, Houaphan, Bolykhamsay, Khammoune, Savannakhet,Salavan, Xiengkhouang, Sepon and Attapeu.-VNA
