The measles situation is reported to ease across the country as only 38 new cases were recorded in 25 provinces on April 25 and the vaccination campaign is being accelerated nationwide.

According to the Preventive Health Department of the Ministry of Health, two measles-linked fatalities were reported at the National Hospital of Paediatrics and the Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi on the same day.

The number of children that went for check-ups at central hospitals has fallen significantly, yet new cases are usually hospitalised at severe stages.

As of April 25, up to 74.02 percent of children nationwide were vaccinated against measles, up 1.62 percent from a day earlier.

Statistics show that since the beginning of 2014, Vietnam has recorded 3,647 measles cases across 61 out of the 63 provinces and cities.-VNA
