Outbound tours surge despite inflations

Viettravel, for example, reported a year-on-year increase of between 30 and 40 percent in outbound tours at this point.

Some other travel agencies said outbound tours buyers recently madeup 60 percent of their local clients while only 40 percent wereinterested in domestic tours, making a reverse.

Tour operators attributed the trend to numerous promotion campaignslaunched by foreign countries as well as discounts in air fares andtourist service charges.

Many travel agencies haveset up partnerships with airlines to reduce tour costs. The HanoiRedtours, for instance, offers a five day-four night tour toBangkok-Pattaya at between 319 and 389 USD per pax. Its Deputy GeneralDirector Nguyen Cong Hoan said the prices represented a discount of upto 20 percent per pax.

A Hanoi citizen, ThanhHuyen, said thanks to the alliance between airlines and travel agenciesthat leads to discounts in tour charges, her family’s dream for anEurope travel will come true soon.

Huyen added her family will visit France and Italy this summer.

Favourite destinations are China , the Republic of Korea , Japan, Thailand , Malaysia and some European countries.

Preliminary statistics showed that the number of clients booking for atour of Thailand in May and June increased by 20 percent year onyear. Meanwhile tours of Japan for August have been almost fullybooked.

Last year saw over 90,200 Vietnameseholiday makers visit the RoK, representing an increase of almost 20percent over the previous year. There are some 73 flights to the RoKconducted weekly by Korean Air, Asiana Airlines and Vietnam Airlines.The RoK Tourism Organisation opened its Hanoi branch office inApril, boosting travel link between the two countries./.

Vietnamese banks promote development of global strong brands

Vietnamese banks have also proactively improved their image and position in the international arena. According to Brand Finance's 2025 rankings, 13 Vietnamese banks are now listed in the Top 500 banks with the highest brand value globally.

In response to these trends, economic experts have recommended Hanoi to implement a range of measures to manage inflation in the coming months. They emphasised the need to strengthen price monitoring of essential goods, particularly food, fuel, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare services.

EC postpones Vietnam’s seafood inspection until year end

The ministry received the notification from the EC’s Directorate – General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG-MARE) in early May, which requested Vietnam to submit a progress report on implementing the EC’s recommended improvements before September 15. The commission will dispatch an inspection team to the country in late 2025 if the report demonstrates sufficient advancements.
