Sri Lankan President praises Vingroup’s investment potential

The Sri Lankan President emphasised investment opportunities for Vingroup in the sectors it is strong at such as tourism, finance, and real estate, especially in Colombo – Sri Lanka’s largest city.

Hanoi (VNA) – Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka extolled Vingroup's multi-sector investment potential in Sri Lanka, particularly in the fields of real estate and tourism.

During his trip to Vingroup’s headquarters in Hanoi on May 4, President Dissanayaka, who is paying a state visit to Vietnam, expressed strong impressions of the group’s scale, stature, and achievements, which he noted have significantly contributed to Vietnam’s economic development.

He commended the green mobility ecosystem Vingroup has built, centred on its electric vehicle brand VinFast. In addition to launching various EV models, VinFast has expanded its international presence, including in India – Sri Lanka’s neighbouring country. The President expressed his belief that Sri Lanka will also become a promising market for VinFast vehicles.

He emphasised investment opportunities for Vingroup in the sectors it is strong at such as tourism, finance, and real estate, especially in Colombo – Sri Lanka’s largest city.

The Sri Lankan Government is currently offering a range of tax and fee exemptions to attract investment and promote the city’s development. Sri Lanka is ready to create the most favourable investment conditions for Vingroup, the President noted.

On Vingroup’s side, Vice Chairman and CEO Nguyen Viet Quang highlighted Sri Lanka as a beautiful island with great development potential. He affirmed that Vingroup will explore suitable opportunities to invest in the country in the coming time./.
