Hanoi (VNA) – Tourism consultant IPKInternational forecast that outbound travelling in Asia will grow by 6 percentin 2019, equivalent to the global average, according to its World TravelMonitor report.
Major destinations include Southeast Asian nations such asThailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Laos.
Commissioned by the International Travel Trade Show (ITB)Berlin slated for March 6-10, the report said outbound trips in Asia increasedby 8 percent during the first eight months of 2018, compared to 5 percent in2017.
Martin Buch, President of Travel and Logistics for ITB Berlin, said the result shows that Asia continues to be the most importantdriving force of global tourism growth in recent years.
As the leading trade fair in global tourism, ITB Berlinattracted nearly 10,000 exhibitors from 186 countries and 170,000 visitors lastyear, including 110,000 commercial visitors. –VNA
International seaport to go up in Phu Quoc waters
The Ministry of Transport and Kien Giang province have reached agreement
on development of an international-standard seaport on Phu Quoc Island
to accommodate huge cruise ships at a cost of 1.25 trillion VND (59
million USD), the Saigon Times Daily reported.
