conferred by the State President.
Empowered by President Nguyen Minh Triet, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong handed over the decoration to the ambassador at a ceremony held in Hanoi on Jan. 15.
Cuong said the order recognised the diplomat’s contributions to boosting friendly and cooperative ties, especially in politics, economy and culture, between Vietnam and Greece .
It also highlighted his humanitarian efforts in Vietnam , including support for Agent Orange/dioxin victims through the “Relief Fund for AO Victims” of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), he added.
Ambassador Hadjimichalis said it was honoured for him to receive the noble award, and pledged to contribute more to strengthening the Greece-Vietnam friendship./.
