Over 100 FDI projects in Bac Giang industrial zones

Twenty-one foreign direct investment (FDI) projects have been granted licences by the management board of industrial zones (IZs) in the north-east province of Bac Giang since the beginning of 2014, with a total capital of close to 193 million USD.

So far, a total of102 FDI projects have been licensed in the province’s IZs, valued at1.8 billion USD, not to mention nearly 4.33 trillion VND (204.7 millionUSD) worth of investment by domestic companies.

IZ-basedinvestors both domestic and foreign disbursed an estimated 2.75 trillionVND (130.9 million USD) in the January-September period, up 58 percentfrom the same period last year.

Since the beginning of 2014,the management board has developed plans to promote investments;coordinated with agencies, organisations and businesses to call forinvestment projects; and monitored progress in accordance withagreements.

The management board is also cooperating with localgovernment to help investors resolve any issues arising and speed upthe implementation process.

Van Trung industrial zone alone hasso far rented out 23ha of land to 11 businesses thanks to goodinfrastructure, including roads, street lights and a water supply systemwith a capacity of 2,000m3 per day and night.

Meanwhile, 14 businesses have leased 73.4 ha of land in the Quang Chau IZ.

According to the director of the management board Nguyen Anh Quyen,businesses in industrial zones provide jobs for 39,000 workers,including 30,000 local residents, with an average per capita income of 4million VND per month.-VNA
