Over 2 billion VND raised for AO victims in Da Nang

More than 2 billion VND and 900 gift packages were raised for the Agent Orange/dioxin (AO) victims in Da Nang in a music programme held in the central coastal city on January 13.
More than 2 billion VND and 900 gift packages were raised for the AgentOrange/dioxin (AO) victims in Da Nang in a music programme held inthe central coastal city on January 13.

Theprogramme, entitled “Mua xuan cho em” (Spring for children), was jointlyorganised by the Da Nang Association for Agent Orange/dioxin Victim(DAVA), Da Nang Newspaper and Da Nang Television on the occasion of theupcoming Lunar New Year festival.

20 gift packages valued at 500,000 VND each were also presented for the victims during the event.

Currently, the DAVA has more than 1,700 members, including 50 foreigners.

In 2012, the association collected nearly 6 billion VND worth of cash,gifts and equipment for more than 5,000 victims in the city, including200 children.

On the occasion, the Da Nang People’sCommittee and the city-based Vietnam Fatherland Front presentedcertificates of merit to outstanding individuals and collectives whoexerted efforts to help AO victims.-VNA
