Hanoi (VNA) – The 12th PartyCentral Committee opened its sixth plenary session in Hanoi on October 4.

During the session, members of the Party CentralCommittee are expected to discuss the socio-economic and financial-budgetarysituation in 2017 and draft a socio-economic development plan andfinancial-budgetary estimates for next year. 

They are also set to look into healthcare andpopulation problems, the reform of public service institutions, organising alean and effective political system and other important matters.

In his speech, Party General Secretary NguyenPhu Trong said the meeting’s agenda covers several fundamental issues relevantto socio-economic development and the reform of politics and economic growth inline with the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress last year.

He asked members of the Party Central Committeeto show responsibility in finalising reports, resolutions and conclusions ofthe committee and making decisions about major issues.-VNA
