Party chief hears issues of public concern

A majority of those in attendance, who vote forlocal NA deputies, praised the achievements reached at therecently-concluded sixth session of the 13th National Assembly, whichsaw the adoption of revised 1992 Constitution and Land Law, andconsensus reached on key national issues.

However, the Party leader was told of issues concerning the public. Several expressedworry over the performance and attitudes of some State officials andcalled for greater training and supervision for them, particularly thoseworking at grassroots level.

Criticisms were also raised overthe construction and operation of hydro-power plants in some regions,which have damaged thousands of hectares of forest and disrupted thelives and property of those living nearby due to poor or irresponsibleadministration.

The management in urban planning andconstruction also poses shortcomings, voters said, claiming that theyhave pressed many times for illegal or damaged buildings to be dealtwith to no avail.

They also touched upon drawbacks ineducation at present, including the lack of pre-schools, contrary to theprevalence of universities, many with few students.

The Partychief thanked the group for their comments and said he is hopeful thatvoters will continue contributing constructive feedback and ideas to theNA, Party and State in the time to come.-VNA

PM Le Minh Hung’s Laos visit to help deepen bilateral relations

On July 18, 1977, they signed the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, providing an important political and legal foundation for strengthening bilateral ties and supporting each country’s cause of national construction and defence.
