Party leader Trong ends China visit

Following the visit, Trong cabled a message to Party General and StatePresident Hu, expressing his thanks to the leaders of the Chinese Party,State and people for their warm hospitality during his visit.

Trong said he believed with efforts and determination of the both sides,the common perception and agreements reached during his visit will beimplemented effectively and substantially, bringing the Vietnam-Chinastrategic comprehensive cooperative partnership to a new height forhappiness of the two peoples and for socialism, peace, stability,cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Before leaving Shenzhen city, Guangdong province, Trong made a tour ofZhong Xing Telecommunication Equipment Corporation, the world’ leadingtelecom provider and China’s largest telecom equipment manufacturerwhich has obtained achievements in investment cooperation in Vietnam. Healso visited Mindray Bio-Chemical Electronics company, the world andChina’s leading hi-tech medical equipment manufacturer.

During the visit from Oct. 11-15, Trong held talks with Party GeneralSecretary and State President Hu Jintao, and met with chairman of theStanding Committee of the National People’s Congress Wu Bangguo andPremier Wen Jiabao.

He also met with Chairman of the NationalCommittee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference JiaQinglin, Vice State President Xi Jinping, and Vice Premier Li Keqiang.

Both sides informed each other of the situation in theirrespective parties and countries and discussed measures to furtherstrengthen relations between the two Parties and States, and exchangedviews on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Belgian King Philippe's visit, accompanied by senior officials, business leaders, representatives of universities and research institutes, would create new momentum to deepen and enhance the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Belgium in a practical and effective way, meeting the benefits of their people and contributing responsibly to peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region and the world.

To further strengthen Vietnam-Belgium relations, especially parliamentary cooperation, both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly between parliamentary committees and friendship groups. They also pledged to share legislative and supervisory experience, coordinate positions in international organisations, support each other’s candidacies for UN bodies, and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

President Cuong warmly welcomed King Philippe and a high-ranking delegation of the Kingdom of Belgium on their first state visit to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973, affirming that the trip is an important historical milestone, opening up a new page for the friendly relations between the two countries.
