Hanoi (VNA) – Politburo member and Secretary of the Communist Partyof Vietnam Central Committee Vo Van Thuong hosted a reception for SingaporeanDeputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo CheeHean in Hanoi on March 22.

Thuong, who is also head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission forInformation and Education, spoke highly of the Singaporean guest’s contributionto promoting the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership. He expressed his hopethat Teo’s visit will help tighten the friendship and mutual trust between thetwo states.

Hailing the effective cooperation between the two countries, Thuong suggestedfurther collaboration in the fields of education and training, people-to-peopleexchange, high-quality human resources development and science development,among others.

Teo, for his part, highlighted that as Vietnam and Singapore share remarkablesimilarities in culture and society, they can share experience during thedevelopment and integration process.

He said that both sides should maintain cooperation in the training of youngofficials. - VNA
