Philippine sick fisherman off Ba Ria – Vung Tau coast helped

A ship from the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (Vietnam MRCC) on October 10 provided first aid to a critically-ill Philippine fisherman on a Palau-flagged vessel off the coast of the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau before bringing him to shore for further treatment.

Ba Ria – Vung Tau (VNA) – A ship from the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (Vietnam MRCC) on October 10 provided first aid to a critically-ill Philippine fisherman on a Palau-flagged vessel off the coast of the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau before bringing him to shore for further treatment.

Cruz Jesus, born in 1972, suffered severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and a sudden rise in blood pressure while his SEA HERMES vessel was en route from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to China.

The captain of the vessel then altered the course to Vung Tau and sent out a request for urgent assistance.

The Vietnam MRCC’s ship was dispatched to the site to provide first aid for the fisherman before bringing him onshore and handing him over to competent authorities and representatives from the ship owner.

He was then transferred to the France – Vietnam Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for further treatment./.
