Philippines allows import of poultry, pork from Argentina

The Argentinean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship has recently announced that the Philippines authorised Argentine exports of poultry meat and pork and the extension to export beef with bone, offal and fats.

Buenos Aires (VNA) - The Argentinean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship has recently announced that the Philippines authorised Argentine exports of poultry meat and pork and the extension to export beef with bone, offal and fats.

This is a result of the coordinated work of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (SAGyP), the National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (SENASA), and the private sector, the ministry stated.

Last year, Argentina received two inspection visits from Philippine authorities, who verified Argentina's sanitary control system for the production of beef, pork and poultry.

In 2023, the Philippines imported meat and by-products for a value of over 1.75 billion USD from all over the world. In addition, between January and October 2024, meat imports into the Philippines increased by 17% year-on-year.

Argentina, the world’s leading exporter of high-quality beef, is making efforts to expand its exports of poultry and pork. Currently, China is the biggest importer of Argentina's meat products./.
