Myanmar police reported on January 13 that at least 12 bodies have been recovered following a jade mine collapse in Kachin State, located in the northern part of the country.

Hanoi (VNA) – Myanmar police reported on January 13 that at least 12 bodies have been recovered following a jade mine collapse in Kachin State, located in the northern part of the country.

The incident occurred on the morning of the same day in Sapaut village, within the Seikmu area of Hpakant town, Kachin state. By the afternoon, authorities confirmed the discovery of 12 bodies, with more than 50 homes buried under debris.

The exact number of casualties remains unclear as search and rescue operations are ongoing./.
