Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a Vietnamese delegation landed in Hanoi on June 26 evening, concluding their attendance of the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and working visit to China.

With over 30 activities held during a three-day working trip to Tianjin and Shanghai, the PM made a strong impression on both multilateral and bilateral levels.

At the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the WEF in Tianjin, the PM participated in several sessions and related activities. Notably, he was a special guest at the national strategic dialogue with the WEF Executive Chairman, and delivered remarks at the most anticipated and high-level discussion of the conference, themed “Is Asia's Century at Risk?”

On the sidelines of the forum, the PM held bilateral meetings with the Interim Chairman and the Executive Chairman of the WEF, as well as with the Prime Ministers of Singapore, Kyrgyzstan and Senegal, and the President of Ecuador. He also engaged with leaders of major global corporations including Siemens, Pepsi, Cisco, and Foxconn, and held discussions with experts and scholars to foster cooperation across various fields.

In bilateral engagements with China, PM Chinh held talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, attended the Vietnam-China Business Forum, had working sessions with leaders of major Chinese corporations in the fields of science, technology, infrastructure, and construction, met with the Vietnamese community and students in China, and visited historical revolutionary sites, socio-economic establishments, and development models such as the stock exchange and the Shanghai Pudong Exhibition.

The trip conveyed a clear message to the WEF and the international community about Vietnam’s spirit of entrepreneurship in a new era, its drive to mobilise global resources for national development, and the country’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralism, diversification, and proactive, extensive international integration.

It also served as conrete evidence of the effective implementation of the common perceptions reached by the top leaders of the Parties and states of Vietnam and China, reflecting the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the building of a “Vietnam–China Community with a shared future which carries strategic significance,” especially in the context of the two countries commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations and jointly carrying out the Year of Humanistic Exchanges./.
