PM Dung meets Japanese Deputy PM

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met Japanese Deputy Prime Minister Okada Katsuya in Tokyo on Apr. 20 while in Japan to attend the fourth Mekong-Japan Summit.

PM Dung expressed his pleasure at the finedevelopment of the Vietnam-Japan strategic cooperation partnership andsaid that the two countries need to boost cooperation in many fields tomatch their great potential.

He asked the two sides to acceleratevisits and meetings at all levels and simplify entry procedures forVietnamese to study, work and travel to Japan , as well as expandpeople exchange programmes.

In addition, PM Dung said, Vietnamwishes to expand cooperation and learn from Japan ’s experience inhuman resource training and social insurance and continue increasingofficial development assistance from Japan .

Japanese DeputyPM Okada Katsuya expressed his strong impression of Vietnam ’sdevelopment and shared Japan ’s experience in implementing policieson social insurance.

Earlier, PM Dung and head delegates to the Mekong-Japan Summit were received by Japanese Emperor Akihito.
At the event, the Vietnamese PM expressed his belief that Japanesepeople will overcome difficulties to build a more prosperous nation.

Hesaid that the Vietnamese State, Government and people are lookingtoward to welcoming the Japanese Emperor and Empress to Vietnam when thetwo countries mark the 40 th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in2013.-VNA
