PM hands over appointment decisions for important personnel posts

The PM asked the newly appointed to decisively guide their ministries and agencies in performing assigned tasks, with a strong focus on implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and other key directives and resolutions of the Party, National Assembly and Government, particularly the Politburo’s nine specialised resolutions in critical areas.

Hanoi (VNA) – Secretary of the Government Party Committee and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference on March 3 to announce and present the Politburo's and the Government leader's decisions on several key personnel appointments to the Government Party Committee, the Government Office, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

Under the Politburo’s Decision No. 37-QDNS/TW, dated February 27, 2026, Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Women’s Union, was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee.

According to the PM's Decision No. 359/QD-TTg of the same date, Dang Xuan Phong was appointed as Permanent Vice Chairman of the Government Office.

Hoang Minh Son, Director of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was assigned to the Ministry of Education and Training as Acting Minister under the PM's Decision No. 356/QD-TTg.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Dinh Khang, Vice President of the VFF Central Committee and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, was appointed Permanent Deputy Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, and Trinh Viet Hung as Permanent Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment under Decisions No. 355 and No. 358/QD-TTg, respectively.

Speaking at the conference, PM Chinh congratulated the newly appointed officials, saying their assignments reflect the Party and State’s strong trust and high expectations.

He noted that they are well-trained and capable officials who have risen through the ranks and gained extensive experience in many positions at central and local levels. They have consistently fulfilled their duties and made significant contributions to the development and achievements of their respective ministries, sectors and localities.

The Government leader stressed that the new assignments are both a great honour and a heavy responsibility amid increasingly complex and urgent global, regional and domestic challenges.

He asked the newly appointed to decisively guide their ministries and agencies in performing assigned tasks, with a strong focus on implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and other key directives and resolutions of the Party, National Assembly and Government, particularly the Politburo’s nine specialised resolutions in critical areas.

He called on them to strive to accomplish their political duties, contributing to the successful implementation of the key tasks for 2026–2031, with short-term growth measures and long-term strategic reforms balanced. The PM also emphasised the need to strengthen solidarity and coordination, uphold integrity and mettle, quickly adapt to new responsibilities, build a contingent of competent and politically firm cadres who think big, act bold and dare to take responsibility for the common good, and ensure appropriate incentives and recognition for outstanding contributors.

PM Chinh expressed his hope that leaders of the Party, State and agencies will continue to support the appointees, affirming the Government will create favourable conditions for them to work.

On behalf of the newly appointed officials, Phong expressed sincere thanks to the Politburo, the Party Central Committee's Secretariat and Party and State leaders for their trust and confidence. Affirming full adherence to the PM’s directives, he pledged loyalty to the Party, State and people, and pledged to uphold integrity, solidarity and sense of responsibility to fulfil all assigned tasks./.
