Hanoi (VNA) – The following is a list of selected news summaries reported last night by the Vietnam News Agency.

- Party General Secretary To Lam chaired a working session with the Party Central Committee's Commission for Policies and Strategies on drafting a resolution outlining strategic solutions to achieve double-digit economic expansion tied to a new growth model.

He stressed that the resolution must serve as a “master blueprint” for Vietnam’s double-digit economic growth model through 2045. A new growth model, he said, must entail a fundamental shift in the underlying drivers of the economy, rather than incremental adjustments to existing policies. Read full story

- Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) share a strong demand to deepen cooperation in the new phase, underpinned by high political trust and significant untapped potential, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and visiting Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Bakytzhan Sagintayev affirmed at their meeting in Hanoi on March 2.

The EAEU comprises Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. Sagintayev, a citizen of Kazakhstan, currently holds the rotating chairmanship of the board. Read full story

- National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on March 2 received First Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament Ioannis Plakiotakis, who is on an official visit to Vietnam from February 28 to March 5.

During the reception, Chairman Man warmly welcomed Plakiotakis and the delegation of Greek parliamentarians, noting that the visit follows NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai's trip to Greece in October 2025. He stressed that the visit is significant, reflecting the keen interest of the Greek Parliament and people in strengthening the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. - Chargé d’Affaires of the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel Nghiem Xuan Hai Dang said on March 2 that the embassy has confirmed no Vietnamese citizens killed or injured in the country’s recent missile attacks.

He stated that Israel has entered what he described as a “wartime rhythm” but it still maintains social order and the operation of essential services. The Vietnamese community has felt the impact of frequent air-raid sirens, particularly those sounding at night, along with movement restrictions and broader disruptions to daily life. - The Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) is showcasing its 5G and artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2026, remaining the only Vietnamese representative at the world’s largest mobile industry event.

Taking place from March 2–5 in Barcelona, Spain, MWC 2026 brings together giant tech firms and innovators from more than 200 countries and territories. This marks the ninth time Viettel has participated in the event, reaffirming Vietnam’s growing technological capabilities and its proactive role in the global digital landscape, said Lieutenant General Cao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel. - Production and trade in Ho Chi Minh City’s industrial and export processing zones have returned to normal, a positive sign following the Lunar New Year (Tet) break 2026, reported the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA) on March 2.

According to historical records, the area once served as an operational base for units of Regiments 609, 66, 24 and 320, as well as staff and logistics agencies of the Central Highlands front (B3) during the 1966–1969 period. Between 2020 and 2025, the corps had already recovered remains from 46 martyrs in the Chu Pa mountain area.
