PM lauds Cuban ambassador’s contributions to bilateral ties

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted areception in Hanoi on September 8 for Cuba’s outgoing Ambassador Herminio LopezDiaz, during which he lauded the diplomat’s contributions to developing thebrotherly solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and mutual trust between thetwo Parties, States and people of Vietnam and Cuba.

PM Phuc expressed his belief that in any position, the ambassador would continuecontributing to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

While affirming Vietnam’s determination to further expand bilateral specialties, the PM suggested the two nations continue exchanging visits at alllevels, while maintaining and promoting the efficiency of cooperationmechanisms through all channels.

Vietnam is willing to share its experience in socio-economic developmentwith Cuba, especially in building the socialist-oriented market economy, the PMstressed, urging Cuba to create optimal conditions for Vietnamese enterprises.

For his part, Ambassador Lopez Diaz said that the Government and peopleof Cuba always want to learn from Vietnam’s experience in socio-economicdevelopment, as Cuba is in the process of modernising its economy.

The diplomat suggested the Vietnamese PM and Government encourage morebusinesses to invest in Cuba.

He noted that Cuba is promoting medical cooperation with Vietnam,including sending Cuban doctors to work in Vietnam and supplying pharmaceuticalproducts for the Vietnamese market.

According to the ambassador, Cuba and Vietnam also hold great potentialsfor stronger cooperation in tourism.

The diplomat took this occasion to thank the Vietnamese government,ministries, agencies and localities for supporting him during his tenure in thecountry and promised to continue working as a bridge to enhance the solidarityand traditional friendship between the two countries in the future.-VNA
