Hanoi (VNA) – Prime MinisterNguyen Xuan Phuc has approved a UNICEF-funded project on childcare developmentand renovating the healthcare system in Vietnam.
The project hopes to strengthen the medicalsystem’s capacity of maternal and child care aiming to expand coverage andimproving the quality of integrated early childhood development, includinghealthcare services, nutrition and hygiene, especially among vulnerablechildren.
It will run from 2017-2021 in Hanoi and theprovinces of Gia Lai, Kon Tum and Dien Bien, costing more than 5.1 million USDin non-refundable aid, with more than 16 billion VND (761,000 USD) and itemsworth in excess of 8 billion VND sourced from the Vietnamese government.
The PM asked the HealthMinistry to review and carry out the project.-VNA
