PM talks trade cooperation with US

Prime Minister Nguyen TanDung made the remarks at a reception for US Trade Representative MichaelB. G. Froman in Hanoi on November 2.

During thereception, PM Dung underlined the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) whichwill lay a sound foundation for boosting ties between stakeholders,including Vietnam and the US.

The Government leaderalso affirmed Vietnam’s close collaboration with the US to reach thetargets of the TPP negotiations in line with the balanced interests ofrelevant parties.

He voiced his hope that the USwill consider helping Vietnamese exports, especially garment and textileproducts, to access the US market during the process of the TPPnegotiations to reach agreements tailored for the two sides.

Michael B. G. Froman stressed that successful negotiations for the TPPwill boost cooperation between the two countries, notably in the fieldsof economics, trade and investment.

Speaking highlyof the country’s efforts in the negotiations, the US official addedthat the two sides need to continue discussions, and believed theirspecific acceptable agreements will be established.-VNA
