Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited the families of war martyrs Trinh Dinh Khoi and Dang Thuy Tram in Hanoi on July 26, as part of activities marking the 71st anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).
At the house of Khoi's family in Minh Khai ward, Hai Ba Trung district, the PM lit incence in memory of the young soldier, who died when only 19 years old on the Quang Tri battlefield. The location of his remains is yet to be found.
He also talked to Khoi’s mother, Vu Thi Nhan, 98, and wished her good health.
Later, he paid homage to military doctor Dang Thuy Tram at her mother’s house in Doi Can ward, Ba Dinh district.
Born in 1942, doctor Tram worked at the Duc Pho District hospital in the central province of Quang Ngai. She died during an ambush in 1970.
PM Phuc stated the Vietnamese Party and Government always remembers contributions of war martyrs to the national independence and pays attention to caring for families of revolutionary contributors.-VNA
