Prague (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held a working session with leaders of prominent Vietnamese enterprises in the Czech Republic and Europe on January 19, as part of his ongoing official visit to the European nation.

These enterprises include Sportisimo, Frostfood, Anam Group, East Sea Travel, Thang Long Holding, Hungary - Vietnam Economic Development Centre, Tamda Foods, Asia Dragon Cheb, FPT Czech and Slovakia, České štěrkopísky, Veltatea and PAMA.

Leaders of businesses want Vietnam to focus on investing more so that Vietnamese goods and services have higher added value, have strong brands, and satisfy demanding markets; promote the image of the country, its people and its potential and investment cooperation opportunities in Vietnam in the international arena.

They also expected Vietnam promote development based on science, technology and innovation; reform administrative procedures further to make it easier for businesses to invest and do business in the country; have more effective methods of connection between domestic enterprises and Vietnamese firms abroad for mutual development; and take more effective solutions in mobilising resources from Vietnamese people abroad to invest and develop the country.

Speaking at the working session, PM Chinh shared with the difficulties and concerns of businesses, and affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always follow, support, and create the best conditions for businesses to develop.

The government leader hoped that these businesses will not only thrive under regulations of the host countries but also act as vital bridges facilitating Vietnamese companies’ entry into the European market.

He urged them to bring their successes back to Vietnam, investing in local production and trade and linking Vietnam’s development strategy with that of the host countries. The focus should be on sharing experiences, transferring technologies, providing direct feedback to shape Vietnam's legal framework and national development strategies, and ultimately linking production and supply chains both at home and abroad

Acknowledging the constructive feedback from business leaders, PM Chinh highlighted Vietnam's ambition to harness sci-tech and innovation as engines for national development. He outlined the country's commitment to advancing three strategic breakthroughs regarding institutional reform, infrastructure and human resources development.

Priority will be given to high-tech industries, brand building, and elevating tourism and cultural sectors where Vietnam seeks to excel, he said.

The leader assigned ministries and agencies to thoroughly consider the feedback at the session, believing that Vietnamese firms in the Czech Republic, Europe and beyond would continue to unite and actively contribute, both directly and indirectly, to Vietnam's socio-economic development goals./.
