Police office in southern Thailand attacked
A police office in Narathiwat province, southern Thailand, was attacked on March 30, with one officer died and three injured.
On the scence (Photo: nationmultimedia.com)Six attackers who were allegedly Islamic militants used a Toyota truck to attack the police office at 8 am before the daily flag-raising ceremony.
The gunmen sped away and the truck was reported to be stolen in the province’s Sukhirin district the same day.
Thailand’s security agency said the attack might be in retaliation to the Army's extrajudicial killing of two Islamic militant suspects on March 29.
The duo were suspected of being involved in an attack on a student pick-up truck that killed four people on March 2.-VNA
