Japan is ready to assist Vietnam in human resources training, finance and technology transfer in the nuclear power field, said former Japanese PM Yukio Hatoyama.
Yukio Hatoyama, who is also President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, made this commitment to Politburo member and Head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Commission for Organisation To Huy Rua at a reception in Hanoi on March 20.
He affirmed that Japan always treasures the development of the Japan-Vietnam strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia, particularly in the implementation of large-scale projects.
For his part, the Politburo member said the Vietnamese Party, State and people always attach importance to the unceasing development of Vietnam-Japan relations for the two peoples’ interest and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Rua proposed the Japanese Parliament support the increase in ODA provision to Vietnam and assist in human resource training and infrastructure development.
He said he hopes more Vietnam-Japan cooperative projects will be established during Vietnam’s industrialisation and modernisation process.-VNA
